State Rally 2022

On the 5th – 7th of August, Kingsford Smith Scouts went to State Rally 2022. We fielded one patrol of experienced Scouts, who participated in a range of activities that were run by Leaders and Venturers.

The patrol was challenged by a caving activity that involved entering tight spaces and plenty of cold water. They emerged muddy and exhausted. One activity involved riding on a zip line and trying out a giant swing. An escape room also featured, our Scouts had to find the murderer within the mysterious world of old London town. Another challenge was based around pioneering and teamwork, the patrol had to manoeuvre a pole into a hole while facing away.

At State Rally, patrols have to cook their own meals and camp together without their Leaders. They are responsible for each others’ well-being and must work together in the challenges.

Did and Nala, along with some Kingsford Venturers, ran a base that involved building a wooden spider and carrying through the spider’s web. They managed to win the best dressed award for the Rally, congratulations!
