Joey Kite Hike 2022

On Sunday, the 15th of May, Joeys from South Met region gathered together to go on a hike along the Guriwal Aboriginal Bush Tucker Track. We started at Yarra Bay and walked along the coast to La Perouse headlands.

On the way we saw a creek, a city of orb weaver spiders, some mushrooms and a large lizard. There were some aboriginal carvings of various animals along the way.

When we got to La Perouse we had to fly our kites. Some of the Joey Units were at Kurnell flying their kites, so we had hoped to see them across the mouth of Botany Bay. We rang them and they could see us, but unfortunately from the La Perouse side we could not see them.
