ScoutHike 2022

A wrap up of Scouthike 2022.

Our troop entered two Patrols into this years’ ScoutHike – the Wombat and Emu Patrols. The weekend activity was hosted by Sydney North Region. It is a premier Region activity with over 850 Scouts competing for best patrol. The Scouts hiked in and around Belanglo State Forest, over last weekend.

The temperature reached down to 5 degrees Celsius on Sunday morning – brrrrrrr. Although it rained on Friday night and Saturday morning the remainder of the weekend turned out great with fine weather. Our Scouts survived and in fact thrived in the environment. As for results – well done to Killer Wombats on achieving on a Silver place. There was a 152 patrol competing in the event. Check out the results – https://sydneynorthscouts.com/sections/scouts/scouthike-2/results/

Not to be outdone, Nala and Did ran an activity in conjunction with 1st Gordon called Jumanji, base 51. The leaders had a great time having around 110 patrols go through the base. Apart from awards for best patrols there were also awards for best activities. I am pleased to announced Base 51 also achieved a Silver place – well done leaders. There will be photos on our website and Facebook page shortly.

We will back in 2023, aiming for Gold.

Yours in Scouting,

Didier ‘Did’ Dejean
